Over 90 percent of Howard County residents have and use their library card. The Howard County Library System was designated library of the year in 2013 by Library Journal. The mission to deliver high quality public education for all ages takes place in seven branches lending over 7.3 million items in 2015. HCLS is a vital component of Howard County’s renowned education system.
