The Celebration is pleased to announce the following organizations that have chosen to support the Columbia 50th Birthday Celebration. Their funding has been instrumental in providing the Celebration the necessary dollars to bring the dynamic and exciting programs to life, whether it is the activities of the 50th birthday, or assisting smaller organizations with funding.
In 2013, it was the Columbia Association that initiated the planning of the 50th birthday. They formed the 501C3 corporation and extended the invitations to the initial Board of Directors. The Columbia Association continues to play a leadership role in the number of employees they have involved in the birthday celebration and the financial resources that they have committed to the three years of planning and celebration.
The Howard Hughes Corporation owns, manages, and develops commercial, residential and mixed use real estate throughout the country. The company is comprised of master planned communities, operating properties, development opportunities and other unique assets spanning 16 states from New York to Hawaii. Columbia, MD is one of the company’s signature assets.
